Does the system track whether text messages were successfully delivered to participants?
Follow
All mobile carriers provide us with a "network" delivery notification.
There are two ways, in Reports or in Contacts
1. In Reports, Under Recent Texts or Text History
1. In Reports, Under Recent Texts or Text History
Recent texts is faster because it's a dashboard view. Look at the status column, you want to see "Carrier Received"
You can use the search bar to find the participant you're looking for.
2. In Contacts, you can find a participant (or click on their profile Icon) to go to their Participant Profile.
Under the participant profile > Text History (same status = Carrier Received).
NOTE:
We're not able to see that the message hit the participant's phone, so the best way to ensure a participant received and read the message is to ask for a response.
For example:
If you want to send a Storyline message to remind someone to complete a task (complete a journal, answer a survey, take their medicine, etc), you can send an Alert ("It's time to do that thing we need you to do.") or you can create a Reminder Survey with the reminder sent as a single question:
("It's time to do that thing we need you to do. Please reply Y when you've completed it.")

* By sending the reminder as an Alert, you're sending a text message to complete the desired action.
"It's time to do that thing we need you to do."
* By sending the reminder as a one question Survey, you're having them reply to the message to confirm they've completed the desired action.
"It's time to do that thing we need you to do. Please reply Y when you've completed it."
We call this function "Compliance Confirmation," a self-reported mechanism by the participant to let you know they've completed the task.
