How Do We Port Texting Numbers to Mosio?
FollowYou are able to port your texting numbers to Mosio. While we understand interest in wanting to keep your existing numbers, please note that we do not recommend porting numbers currently in active studies or projects. The process can take one week or longer, and the number may be out of service during part of the porting process. We recommend using a new number so there is no downtime in communicating with your participants.
That said, we're happy to help you port numbers to Mosio.
The Process
First be sure your number is unlocked with your current provider. Then please complete the Letter of Authorization (LOA) and submit this to Mosio to begin the transfer.
Once your number is unlocked, please fill out the Letter of Authorization (LOA), allowing Mosio to port this number. Then you can send a support ticket with the LOA attached, and Mosio will initiate the porting process.
To initiate the transfer, please send a support ticket to Mosio with the following info:
- Phone number that you wish to move
- Twilio account SID that owns the number - you can find this on your Twilio dashboard
- The email address of the Twilio account owner, who will need to approve the transfer request
- The date you would like the transfer to happen - this can be "asap" or any future date, we will do our best but timelines are not guaranteed
Once you submit this ticket, Mosio will coordinate with Twilio to have the number moved. There may be some downtime, though typically the transfer happens quickly.
